Therapy interfering Behaviour in DBT: from disaster to opportunity
Friday 4th November 2022, 11-12.30 am (NZT)
Online registrations closed on 2 November 2022 for this training.
A 1.5 hour web-based training
Many DBT therapists find the non-collaborative and non-compliant behaviour of some clients a considerable challenge to their practice. However, such behaviours are relatively common in DBT and can provide opportunities for direct assessment and intervention. This web training reviews the principles and practices of managing therapy interfering behaviour with a particular focus on when such behaviour shows up in the therapy session. Teaching methods include didactics, discussion, modelling and practice (in break-out rooms). You will be encouraged to reflect on current TIB challenges in your work and develop a plan to target these behaviours.
About our Web trainings:
Our online Zoom trainings are designed to support practitioners in their DBT-related practice and professional development. A single DBT trainer will present an area of DBT study and progress its application to your context. Events may involve activities, discussion and Q+A for participants. There will be a maximum of 30 participants for this event. You will need a suitable device with a webcam and a reliable internet connection capable of streaming 'youtube' style video. When registered, we will send more information about the process of joining and participating in the Zoom meeting.
Note: if this training is sold out then you will be able to join a waitlist. If we repeat this training then those on the waiting list will be the first to be offered a place for the new training.
